VYNL Logo

For one of my briefs I am designing a set of Vinyls, of bands I like.

The idea is that I can experiment and explore into doing the Olly Moss Style illustration,

Like how I did for the Quentin Taratino brief.

But before all that I was messing about with ideas for the logo.

Title being VYNL.

To kick it of I took a existing typeface, where one side was thicker that the other,

Making it easier for me to trace,

Here what I kicked off with.

I thought of adding circles as you can see the two below.

I don't think they work really well.

But circles are something I would like try using more with this logo,

So I will be looking into more for this logo, for the shape of a vinyl.

I started messing about with different lines and the weight of lines.

The idea of filling in the letters with thick lines came to mind.

So I experimented with a few more ideas.

I liked the idea of filling in the counters of the letters.

Was thinking of different ways to fill the space, so thought of more lines.

Also filling the background with lines and seeing how it works with the word.

I don't feel I have found an exact idea yet, but I feel I have some ideas that I could work with and expand the ideas.
