Packaging Ideas For Vinyls

I have been looking into exciting packaging for both vinyls and CD's.
I have came across some great ideas.

Got on the phone to me Dad and got him to send me some of his vinyls that he didn't want so I could use and destroy them to save a few pennies,
I started to experiment by cutting up some vinyl covers to see what I could come up with.
Came up with a few ideas.

Cut up vinyls;

I simply started by cutting a cover up, diagonally across the cover,
So the disc is hanging half out for all to see,
I don't think this would work obviously,
Aswell as the vinyl hanging out there is less board to work with to put design on.

I thought of a idea of the design opening like a book, so there could be alot of room for design and information,
Alot more space to work with, to get alot more design involved.

This idea happened by mistake, I accidentally cut the cover up wrong,
but it seem to have worked, cause I liked the idea of the cover having a 'lid' that can be lifted off,
maybe find a way of keeping it attached?

These are just a few,
I still have a lot more vinyls covers to cut up and get the images up on to this blog.

ALSO THE VINYLS I HAVE BEEN USING, I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHO THE ARTISTS or THE SONGS ARE.
ME OLE' MANS BAD TASTE!

Additional Packaging Designs

I continued looking into packaging designs for vinyls,
So I simply typed in 'Vinyl Packaging' on Google Images, & a good few designs came up.

Here they are;

This is a good idea, have the design looking like a book,
This way each page could have a vinyl on, with a different design and layout.

Downfall could be it could be very thick, so how could it shut?
This is another problem that would have to be solved.

This caught my eye, simply because it was unusual.
But a really nice design, different to what we often see.
I like how they have also still fitted in the information in the given gaps and how the vinyls are easy to take out.

I was disappointed when I came across this,
Because in my layout I put down bags, a bag with just a vinyl inside.
But this is something I can get inspiration from .

Additional, I like how the colours work with the brown stock, so thats something I will certainly be looking into.
