WorkShop Branding & Identity

The first brief I am focusing on for this module is a quick turn around brief,
Branding/Identity for my housemates Reece Leung and Josh Rose, both who are photographers.

I was looking at some Identity design by some past students from my course, who have there own design company called 'Workshop.' Below is some examples of their work.

03 Capital;

Different from there other work, this time focusing with blue ink on a white stock.

Business Card, A nice simple logo with a with the company title underneath works really well, with that having its own side of the business card and the information being on the other side. The information, is neat and well lay out, and easy to read.

This is abit different to the other Identities they have put together, they have got a front and back for all the items, Letter Head and Compliment slip both having a blue back with the logo also placed, a nice piece of design.

Pixelhouse Media;

With the piece from Pixelhouse Media, the first thing that comes to me is the logo, how they have made the logo work with the name.
A nice neat, simple logo.

Once again using the black and white colour pallet, but this time instead of a printed logo they have used a spot varnish, which really stands out and makes the business card look really professional.

Along with the Business Card, adding the Letter Head and the Compliment Slip, they work really well as a set, black ink on a white stock, simple layout and nice composition. Good set of work.

I think the spot varnish on these business cards is brilliant, something I would like to look into doing.

Brown Bread Films;

Producing the branding and identity for a film company, Brown Bread.
Below is there Business Card, Letter Head & Compliment Slip.
Using black ink on white stick, helps the design to look sharp and neat.

As a set, I feel they really work well, limited colour pallet being black and white,
good layout and composition, my only critisium would be position and ranging on the letter head, working above the logo and on the right side of the page but raged left. Not sure if it works, but suppose its something different to every other you see.

The type on the business it neat and crisp, on both front and back.
All very legible and laid out well, so its easy on the eye and pleasant to look at.

Auburn;

Auburn is a fashion boutique, and another identity I found on Workshops website.
Below are a selection of promotional material as well as there identity/branding.

Using just black ink on a beige coloured stock, keeping the design neat and tidy,
Not over loading te business cards with what isn't needed.

Front & Back,
Front, just being consisted of the Auburn new logo, and the back providing the details of the shop, once again, a neat and easy design, clear to read and easy on the eye.

Aswell as the business cards and bit and bobs they have done other promotional material for the company, as you can see below, reward cards, tags and flyers.
Still keeping to the black ink on a stock, and keeping the design and layout to a minimum, not over crowding anything, just keeping the design neat and tidy.

Barber & Mack;

This is a brief they done for a Gentleman's Hairdressing,
The design is simple, simple layout, simple composition, but very effective.
Sticking to a colour pallet of two colours, black and white.

As well as doing there Branding, they have produced other bits, as seen here such as a shop front, or a shop sign, working with the same designed logo but to a different scale,
Something I could look into, maybe not a shop front, but looking into do something else with with the branding I design, giving my clients more options.

I really like there work, its the type of work I enjoy looking at and enjoy producing myself,
simple, neat and easy on the eye.
